JAC Spring Update

After an action-packed and fun-filled year it was time for change at the Aberfeldy & District JAC camp with the AGM on Tuesday 6 March. The following office bearers were elected:

Honorary President Bridget Black; Club Leader James Buchanan; Chairman Roger Simpson; Vice Chairman Adam Mitchell; Secretary Vicky Marshall; Assistant Secretary Leanne Walker; Treasurer Ally Marshall; Assistant Treasurer Karen Stewart; Ladies Convenor Kirsty Walker; Press Secretary Fiona Stewart; Ladies Sports Convenor Kayley Kennedy; Gents Sports Convenor Robert Grant.

On Friday 23 March many of the members took part in the Calf Wintering Competition’s Show and Sale where they did very well this year. Ben Dorsie triumphed and won the Show Champion and the rest of the members did very well in the “Return in Capital Invested” and “Daily Weight Gain” sections, particularly Vicky Marshall. Well done to all that took part!

The next night, Saturday 24 March, several members made the trip down to the Young Farmers Centre at Ingliston for the annual East Big Night Out. This Big Night Out brings together each district, in our case the 5 Perthshire Clubs come together to compete as one team against the other District teams in East Area. As per usual, we were doing very well all the way through but were tying for first place at the end. A penalty shoot out commenced and Perthshire brought home the prized Toilet Seat Trophy for the first time ever!

The first meeting of the Summer Syllabus is a Family Fun night at Grandtully Hall on Sunday 6 May to start at 4pm. There will be games for all with a BBQ to follow so please bring you own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Everybody is welcome so if you have never been a member but are interested then come along with some friends for a night full of games! Parents are welcome to come too to ask any questions and take part in the fun! We hope to see you there!

For information contact Roger on 07843 077339 or Vicky on 07990 898480.
